Apple beats Sony Ericsson and Motorola in Sales-- 11/02/2011
A Gartner report declared Apple ahead of popular mobile phone manufacturers like Sony Ericsson and Motorola in terms of sales in 2010. So what's the big deal? Companies do keep out-pacing each other year after year. But the point to note here is that Sony Ericsson and Motorola each had at least a dozen cell phones released last year, Apple did it with just two actively selling models - the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.
Apple sold 46.6 million units of its smartphone in 2010; that is close to double their sales from the year before that. Such progress is suggested largely due to the newer models selling in more countries and the end of exclusivity deals (like AT&T's in U.S.). India still continues to be not one of those countries to get the iPhone models on time.
Right now, the ranking of top mobile sellers is such - Nokia, Samsung, LG, RIM and Apple - according to Gartner's reports.
But that's not the best news Apple has had today, analysts predict it could become the biggest firm in the world by next year; beating current numero uno Exxon, an oil company
