BCE, Inc. is the communications company from Canada (state Ontario) . With 24 million residential and business customer connections, BCE provides wireline, wireless, data, Internet and satellite entertainment services in Canada, principally under the Bell brand. The Company's activities are conducted through Bell Canada (Toronto connectivity), Bell Globemedia (content), Teleglobe (global connectivity), BCE Emergis (commerce) and BCE Ventures (other BCE investments). In May 2002, Teleglobe Inc. filed protection from creditors in a Toronto court under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act, the Canadian equivalent of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. In addition, its United States subsidiaries filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.
